H22 Accord vs 5th Gen Mustang GT

Post by H22Accord »

Yesterday evening Green Mt Rd & Carclyle Ave. in Belleville, IL I pulled up to a stop light and noticed a 5th gen Mustang GT. It was black with chrome exhaust tips so I don't know if it had aftermarket exhaust or if they were stock tips? Green light, I take off "normal" not thinking this guy was going to race me and then he punches it, it sounded pretty mean and jumped a car or two ahead of me while I was trying to grab in first, slammed it into second and I caught up to him pretty quick and left him behind by 2 1/2 cars before I let off.

On second thought, are you sure he was trying? Idk if you are in the 13s...

My guess it the GT just had exhaust on it which made it really loud and the OP thought he was flooring it and trying to race, when in reality, he was just accelerating normally off the line

Prolly right. 2.5 cars on a 13 sec car?? I highly doubt it

Well, they're 13sec cars with a good driver at the track. A lot of local runs are running very high 13's and low 14's. They have the power to run a mid to low 13 in stock form with the right driver/conditions. But from a rolling start, that doesn't matter as much and there's no way the Accord put 2.5 cars on him if he was really trying
