I want to finally race someone

best ive gotten was a 15.5 @87 and a 2.3 60ft, that was with bald tires, now i have a new wheel bearing and new tires, still falls on it's ass at high rpms though, gotta wire it up right, for some reason when i hook up my boomslang harness and my obd1 ecu it will turn over but wont start... i have some work to do :PDT_att:

In my EF with a B16/LS tranny I went 10.2 in the 1/8th and 2.5 60ft so you got me beat! I'll run you at gateway if my car doesn't sell soon.

yeah in the 1/8 at least mine was a 9.9XXX its a quick car through 3rd but then falls on its face in 4th, seems like the higher the gear the less it hits vtec

cause you have a obd0 dizzy on there still right.

stock header and no exhaust will do that .. you need to get a inteke manifold to get rid of that gsr manifold crap, get a header a exhaust back on it and put my ecu back in the car with the ls dizzy and that car will run it's ass off. When it was just a b16 that car had NO problem holding it's own against any other b-series car .. actually it would put the hurt on most b-series cars

Maybe I'm just old now or something but I think street racing is pretty ridiculous, When I see kids trying to street race I just shake my head in disappointment I understand not wanted to haul all the way to Gateway and paying 20 bucks to run once or twice, but think about the tickets you would get if you got caught or the consequences if you hit someone. Not trying to dog you out or anything man again just might be me getting old (28)

im not about racing down manchester or anything, if i race anywhere it would have to be remote with no cops, just costs to much to run there, so chris, you are saying that with your type-r basemaped ecu, and an ls dizzy that it should run fine? i have an exhaust back on it, no money for a header at the moment, or an intake mani for that matter, i will though

yea the car ran flawless with that ecu and ls dizzy, thats the set up i always ran on the car no matter what motor was in the car. only difference was that i never ran vtec off the ecu i ran it of my vafc so i could change the vtec crossover points when i went on trips. Because driving down the hwy at 80mph in vtec blows donkeys

yeah, dont laugh, but after my old exhaust broke i didnt have money for a new exhaust so i just have a cat and a pipe to the first exh. hanger and thats it, im still looking around for a good deal on a full system, header back

take it off and check the cat i know somebody who had the same problem in higher gear with their cat clogging
