Well in light of Jerren's recent thread regarding him beating an S2K and looking for challengers I thought it worth my while to see how I stacked up against one. EDIT: I was driving my wagon for these races.
I ran my friends stock S2K three times tonight, one from a 25 roll, again from a 35 or so roll and then once from a dig.
25 roll: S2K started at the top of first, I was in 2nd. I pulled a car on him down low (he had to shift to 2nd pretty quickly after starting), maintained lead to 65mph, shifted to 3rd and by 75mph he had caught me and put a car on me.
35 roll: I believe he missed my honk or was playing with the shifter because he was slow to react, I put a car on him through 2nd, but again by 3rd he had pulled even and he was passing me around 85mph, I shut it down right there because I knew I wouldn't pull him back in.
dig: I launched and put 2 cars on him, idk what he was doing but i ended up putting a bus on him by the end of second and just shut it down. I guess S2Ks are not good dig cars.
A few weeks back I ran a newish (but not the brand new body style) silver 1.8T GTI from a stoplight. I wasn't expecting a race so he launched on me, I eased into first, went full throttle, caught him and put a nose past him, hit second and put a car on him, then shut it down.
A few days ago I ran a brand new Challenger R/T from a stoplight. Again, I didn't know the chick wanted to race me so when she launched I eased into first but she already had a car and a half on me, I played catchup through second and made up a little ground but knew I wasn't gonna catch her with my lame start, then shut it down. I would've liked to have ran her from a legitimate dig with me launching, I'm pretty sure the R/T would shoot past me at the end but I'd put at least a car or two on her at the start.
Anyway, thats what I have to share. The S2K was a very fun race, its safe to say its a faster car than I, but it is within my reach to be faster with a few tweaks.

Should've specified. These were all in my DD Outback wagon.

The Outback is a faster straight line car because it is boosted, my RS isn't swapped and probably never will be. I DD the wagon at school because nobody knows what it is and I don't care if it gets door dinged or hit by a bus. I have used the RS for AutoX only as it is a much faster track car for obvious reasons and have kept it in climate controlled storage for over a year now, for a year previous it was only driven one weekend a month. I'll be DD'ing the RS this summer for my internship in Alabama though. For next fall I will collect the necessary parts to tweak the AFRs on the Outback and run 15psi, but I'll still DD it for school.
