So last night coming home from Red Robin in St. Peters I was going to make a left out onto mid rivers and just hop on the highway to get home. Well I see this pretty decently clean older creme colored Monte Carlo pass, as he passes he revs like there is no tomorrow. I look at Tom, we laugh, and decide to to make a right and follow him.
He was going to pull into Walgreens right past Mexico but I gave him a slight rev too just to be funny. He decides he doesn't want to go to Walgreens anymore and follows me. He tries to fly past looking cool in front of his buddies with a ricer fly-by but there is a truck in his way, and an SUV in the other lane so now he just looks silly. Those 2 cars turn off so we are all alone at a light and I thought he was going to romp on it hardcore, so I wait and take off with a little acceleration not full throttle. I shift into 3rd and I notice him coming up pretty fast, so Tom tells me to just drop it in 2nd so I did ok that's cool, he goes to do his ricer fly-by again, and as he slightly passes me while I'm finally down shifting into 2nd, he has maybe a car and a half head start on me, I catch up with him no problem then I slightly pass him after shifting into 3rd, I just scoot right past him with maybe 3 or 4 cars in between us.
We now come to a red light I am in the right lane he is in the left, side by side, I give him the "Oh man you just got beat by a Honda WITH a girl driving" look. Tom also looks over and mouths "WEAK SAUCE" and his face was so priceless it was amazing. While his buddies in the passenger seat and in the back were laughing at him. I drove off with a thumbs up and it was good times!
I know racing on Mid Rivers is stupid but I did it because I could and it was late at night with no cars around us. I usually drive like a grandma but last night I was feeling frisky! lol It was just a little fun to have a V8 driver to step down a few pegs getting beat by a Honda.

If it was a 4th gen SS, they aren't that fast. Depending on the model year, they had a 305 rated at about 180hp and 225 lb/tq coupled to either a 3 or 4 speed automatic. The owners think that an SS badge means they have an NHRA dragster.
Good job at giving him a dose of reality.

good kill... i wish that SS driver's would know that the SS doesnt mean as much as it used to. basically all it means now is that the exhaust is louder, and its got some wheels on it...
