I was coming home from Chris' (N2HIFI) last night and there was a guy with his girlfriend in a silver 2000ish Mazda 626 that wanted to race me. We went from a 50 punch and when I shut down at 90 I was already 7-8 cars ahead of him. Afterwards he pulls up next to me motioning me to roll my window down so i do and here's what he says to me :
626: "What's all done to that thing?"
Me: "Nothing special. Just a B series."
626: " How much power do you have?"
Me: "Enough."
626: " I have 175 hp!!!11!!OMG!!!"
Me: "k."
626: "your car is quick."
Me: "Thanks." lol
Then he proceeded to fly down the street. kids these days.

626's can be fine performers if you know what to do to them.
I had a 1995 ES with a twin charger on it(read acorn turbo and custom supercharger designed by my friend), Put 340 to the wheels.
Funny though, the guys at speed and sound said, and i quote "that car isn't even worth modding, trade it for a subaru or something", 2 grand later it was running mid-high 11's. I rebuilt it, stuck my twin charger on it, put a dual friction clutch on it, And tinted the windows(seriously, tint adds HP j/k).
You may have seen it at one point or another, Forest green with a red skull in the back window.I only wish that before i traded it(poor girl blew a wrist pin at 120K after the rebuild), That i had pulled the clarion speakers out of it.

In relation to this person's quote, how is it considered a rice bucket? I don't remember him saying anything about any uber sweet neons, decals/ stickers, spinning hubcaps, etc. Sounds like some kid joy riding in a, so he thinks, go fast mazda 626. Not sure if I would call that a rice bucket, unless of course the term rice bucket has evolved in the last couple of months.jdmjerry07;82305 wrote:sweet kill sounds like a rice bucket
Before it goes way off topic, congrads on the kill.
