i wouldnt doubt it if it was in great shape, oil starvation to the turbo is a huge deal and can cause even a brand new turbo to be fubar within a short amount of time.Spork;36290 wrote: he HAD a 60trim on it and it needed work, so he traded it for this 50trim which was supposed to be in great shape...

Correct. The problem was that I hooked up the PCV to the Oil catch can... Then a month later I had oil burning out of the exhaust, I tried to think of everyhting it could have been to fix it. New return line to the oil pan, nope. swapped turbos since I thought mine was bad, nope. Disconnected the hose to the PCV and it stopped...soundqjr;36326 wrote:we found out after he had the turbo that it was bad.
John at Turbo Center can rebuild a turbo with ease! Jake / Budget can do it too... Pm Jake for more details! lol

so you are saying that it wasn't bad when you got it (was good shape), and that something on your car was what messed it up (now bad shape). right? so why is Steve talking like it was a turd when you got it? it sounds like you are saying otherwise... im confused lol99BlackHatch;36342 wrote:Correct. When I swapped, I thought my old 60 trim was fucked and I swapped it for the "supposed" brand / 500 mile turbo... but there was already shaft play on it as well... But I made the mistake of not checking out the turbo before I left with it, I figured / assumed that since it had the "supposed" 500 miles on it that it should be in great shape. I was wrong in that assumption and the oil seal was leaking a little and there was shaft play as well and a little bit more than I prefered to have had. t the time with my lack of knowledge about turbos themselves, I didn't know exactly what to look for and what to be worried about... You gain more knowledge everyday.
