New to the world of Hondas...GSR Sedan

Post by schmoses »

New to the Honda world, but not a new car enthusiast.

Just bought a 96 GSR Sedan to drive and back and forth to work. I work downtown, but live in St. Charles.

It is mostly stock, but has a few mods including 4-1 header, vibrant muffler with 2 resonators, intake, h&r springs with Koni STR-T struts, and Drag DR-29 wheels. It is a pretty fun, reliable daily driver. Will probably stay exactly as it is since its sole purpose is to get me back and forth to work. Love the car so far, except that I had it a week and someone changed lanes into the drivers side door.

Also have a bulb out in the gauge cluster. How hard is it to get the gauge cluster out?

And than my dad and I have a project truck, 1936 Chevy pickup.

2 inch wider rear fenders, 28x10.5-15 tires on a 10 inch wide rear wheel. Bed is narrowed 2 inches per side, running boards lowered an inch on the frame, cab will be channeled over the frame, mustang II front, 4 link/9 inch rear, smallblock/powerglide, etc. It is a LONG term project so probably won't be finished for quite a while.

welcome to the forum! that truck is sexy.

for the bulb. take out the 2 screws at the top of the gauge bezel, then remove 3 or 4 screws that hold the cluster in the dash. you'll have to wiggle the cluster out and there is 3 #194 bulbs that light the cluster up. replace bulb and reassemble.

Awesome, doesn't sound too bad at all. I was afraid it would involve taking the whole dash apart.

I agree, I've been considering an Si-Vtec lip for the GSR, but being a DD i'm afraid the front end might be a little low with a lip. The factory drags the ground from the time to time as it is.
