I know I'm paying more than a lot of crappier areas in town, but w/ all of my options and being dead center of town, I couldn't pass it up. I walk to most places now so to me the price was right, considering all the other communities are running 1beds starting at 1000 and going to 1500. A property next to me STARTS at 1950/m. insane.

Are you talking about renting or buying? With the current interest rates you could pay 1100 a month for a $150,000 home.

If you wanted to go to the IL side, you could live in Edwardsville or Alton.

My wife works at SLU, and we live in Alton. I work in Manchester.
