Ran across these spy shots in a magazine. They claimed that AMG is making this vehicle as a replacement to the some 150,000 humvees in service right now. it has the General Engine Products 6.5L which should make more power than the current diesel. there is also a jump in ground clearence from 16in to 22in. the big hood tells me that theyve developed a better cooling system of some sort. the site i found these pics on say that it may be competeing for the military's Future Tactical Truck System (FTTS) contract, but ive heard elsewhere that they were not in the running at all.
AM General has claimedthat it is not a prototype at all, just a concept vehicle the company uses to generate interest. (which sounds like a prototype to me). They call it the Evolutionary Concept Vehicle II.
do you think this is just a ploy to remind people that AM General exists, or is it in fact the next generation of light duty military vehicles, just kept under wraps so too many details dont get spilled about its technology?
