If I remember correctly, it doesn't even have four wheel low in the 4wd models. It has tiny axles too, take a look under one. They should just sell them with car tires, but then urban yuppie warrior and soccer moms wouldn't want them. Just my opinion. Before I get off the soap box, honda probably wouldn't have gotten into suv's if american's weren't so hyped on them, honda just wanted a piece of the pie (money that comes from them.) Just think if they would've just kept all there focus on making kick-arse type-r cars. Just stating some facts and opinions. Don't crucify me.
Not entirely correct. The Ridgeline has a unit-body construction with fully boxed frame that is integrated into the design. So you can't see the frame seperately, but it's there.
The Ridgeline is not supposed to take over the traditional truck market either. It's niche is people that need a comfortable, safe, well built vehicle most of the time, but need a truck for hauling/towing every once in a while. I've had mine since March 05 and regularly tow/haul with it. As long as you are within the limits (or slightly over) that is was designed for the Ridgeline will perform fabulously (imo). Also, I have a couple guys here in town that are using Ridgelines for work trucks...one guy sells/installs granite and stone. Everytime he sees me out he tells me how impressed he is with his truck.
Bottom line, if you don't see the value in it, don't buy one. But if you fit the type of person that it was designed for, you'll quickly see the value. Remember, everybody has their own preferences, so drive what you like.
ps- yes the Ridgeline Street sport concept is extremely HAWT! I LOVE the LED foglights and the sideskirts with integrated side exit exhaust.

Anyone know why they are selling so cheap lately? I was at Meyer Honda a couple days ago and they had a couple 4WDs for 21-22k for the window price. That seems pretty low for a truck that started with a sticker of 30k.

1. gas prices have slowed the market so Honda has instituted marketing support to help move the price to a more attractive level.
2. 2008 models 'should' be the last body before the Mid Model Change (freshen up the look), so again they need to go before the 2009's show up.
3. Dealers are willing to take a slim deal on the slower moving inventory right now to save money on floor plan expense.
BTW- just so you know, with the strong discounts and the lease special you can get into a Ridgeline for a pretty low monthly.

my father has one, i really like it actually, it has a great 4wd system, we were driving through a downpour on the highway one day going around a turn when just the ass end hydroplaned and the truck went sideways, next thing we knew we heard some weird as buzzing noise coming from the wheels and the car pretty much straightened it's self out, he pulls his bass boat down to the lake every weekend, drives to and from job sites, has carried all kinds of weight over that cooler door and no problems yet with it, only thing i dislike about the cooler is that the spare tire is in there, and if you have anything in the bed you cant get to it, we dont even use it as a cooler, we put all of our expensive tools in there and lock it up if someone tries to break in that door is connected to the car's alarm, also the tail gate will open down or you can open it like a car door, its a good quality made SUT.
