New to the forums!

Post by tscastello »

Hey everyone name's Tom, I'm new to the forums! I just purchased a 2007 Civic Si Sedan late spring 2010 finally desided to start modding the thing... It was supposed to be something I was going to keep stock but nooooooooooo the man part of me took over and here's what happened..

I purchased the car this past spring to get rid of my Envoy XUV gas hog hoping this would fix the insane money being spent on fuel.. Wow was I wrong now I'm just spending the money on aftermarket stuff. My plan with this car was to use it as a daily driver and get another 350Z or get the new 370, but I just desided about 3 weeks ago that I enjoy the car so much that I'm just going to fix it up instead.

Anyways currently I have a dining room full of parts cause I live in an apartment lol current list is as follows:
-Skunk2 76mm cat back (in box)
-Skunk2 sport springs (installing this weekend)
-Skunk2 struts/shocks as soon as R&D at S2 are done redesigning them
-Skunk2 Titanium weighted shift knob (installed)
-MOMO Leather shift boot (in box)
-Injen CAI (will be here soon)
-some junk e-bay "Big H" delete grille.. I hate the quality i should have known for only spending 30 bucks on the thing but oh well it was only 30 bucks.
-Ordering a CF front grille to replace (will be here soon)
-new set of wheels i might as well list as current mod also getting in 2 weeks.
-ANZO CCFL halo headlights Black backing
-Xtreme Digital HID Conversion Xtreme HID 6500k
-Carbon Fiber roof spoiler
-Full windows tint in a week
-Hopefully CF hood, and CF spoiler replacement in a couple weeks is the plan.

::That is the end of my "Current mod" list::
(All was ordered no longer then 3 weeks ago, I'm in a hurry to get this thing built)

Upcoming mod list is probably too long to list here and even if I could I'm not really sure what all I want to do yet in detail.. I know I have plans to do a complete motor build (second one I have done) all the way down to a stroker kit. I'm just really happy that the stroker kit of this platform is less then half what it was for my 350Z, 5,700 bucks to me seems like a good deal lol the 350Z was over 11,000.

I'm probably going to go with a low compression setup though because forced induction is def in the plans. I'm also temped on building my own custom setup because I currently have 10 years of welding experiance, so it makes it much easier... But its much easier to just buy a kit haha.

Audio modifications.. I'm not really worried about audio I went through the whole SUV huge ass system stage in my life now my ears can't take any more, plus its a weight issue if I'm going for performance now on this vehicle.

Exterior mods will include many CF parts, I would eventually like to do every panel on the vehicle in CF but I dont know if I can see my self spending more on the car then what I purchased it for. Thats the problem i have with cars in this price range its so easy to get to or go over the purchase price of the vehicle if the $$$$$ are there.
...Actually today I was looking at a site where I can buy a 40 square foot of carbon fiber weave I was thinking about doing the roof on my car but I think thats probably going to be a down the road mod, and at this point I dont really know how much CF is too much CF.

Lastly Suspension currently I have only a performance spring setup not even a coilover setup. My springs were purchased on an impulse buy sooo instead of selling them even though they are brand new i figure screw it ill just install them and upgrade to coilovers down the road.

Anyhow here is some pics of my car currently, outside my dads house where I do all the work on my cars.

As you can see no big deal its just a stock 4dr si but hopefully I will have pics of it lowered soon. I'm planning on putting the springs on this saturday a long with some of the other mods on the list probably exhaust and CAI also.

Just very glad my dad has a 2 post lift in his shop at his place lol this makes it crazy easy to install anything.

Hope I can get to some of these meets with you guys this year and make some new friends.
