put my amp in my garage

Post by Capt'n Obvious »

well i decided to put my mtx amp which only the rear chan works on it and sotck tibby speakers. i used the box my type s came in to hold the speakers. hooked an rca to the center chan of the cd player in my garage. and hooked up the amp to my kinetic batt. sounds good its loud as fuck still needs some tweaking. too much static and bass. next i need to hook up my sub in there.

You can modify a computer power supply to run your amp... I have a 400 watt computer power supply running our garage system.

Ok I do have to ask why use the amp on the the stock tibby speakers?

Chances are the factory tibby speakers are a lower ohm range and that aiwa stereo would be more than enough to push them (probably like 35 watts at 6 ohm if not more wattage). A lot of factory speakers in cars seem to be around 2-3.2 ohms. The aiwa would be enough to push the tibby speakers.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you.
Hope this helps
