Ken Block's Rally America Fiesta wasn't scheduled to break cover until Wednesday, but a few images leaked out early. As a response, the Monster rally team released two high-res shots and a funky-jam video. Excuse us while we geek out.
Need more? The Monster World Rally Team's official site goes live on Wednesday. Be sure to check the site then for more images, wallpapers, and coverage of next weekend's season-opening Sno*Drift rally. (Re: Sno*Drift: We'll be there, wearing a BMW hat and helping shepherd the country's stinkiest E30 318i through tech. If you see us, say hello.)
Powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder and putting power to the ground using all four wheels, this custom built rally car is built by Swedish race shop Olsbergs Motor Sport Evolution – the very same outfit that Ford’s Pikes Peak hillclimb cars, which were raced by the likes of Marcus Gronholm.
Ford made a great move in signing him, seriously. I will give them that. Now Block. After driving a Ford for 2 years and dealing with their pathetic customer service and dealerships. I think Block has lost his mind leaving Subaru. But oh well, to each their own.
(The Olsbergs MSE Fiesta Rallycross car is based on the Fiesta hatchback model road cars. The all-wheel-drive Fiestas are powered by a 2.0-liter Duratec Ford engines capable of more than 800 horsepower.)
