damn that LS1 sounds nothing like mine
oh wait its missing two cylinders, and its a straight 6, lol.
they threw the 2JZ in there because so many guys have been throwing LSX motors in supras. payback's a bitch haha. im not a fan of the decision, but the work and fab skills are absolutely amazing. it was only a metter of time. heres what a real LSX sounds like; 1000hp N/A
SAM (School of Automotive Machinists) build
GMPP LSX block
433ci (~7.1L)
4.155” bore/4.00” crank
Weisco pistons= 15.5:1 SCR
sheetmetal intake
C5R heads
solid roller, jesel valvetrain
Q16 race fuel
9600 rpm redline
3500lbs.
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyQMjHD0 ... r_embedded"]YouTube - LSx N/A Record 8.58@157.8[/ame]
that run was at the LSX Shootout in Memphis this weekend, ran for the N/A record. 8.58 @ 157.8.
who needs boost? or a 2JZ?:tongue1:

True, but a 1000 hp 2JZ is still perfectly streetable, and a TON more reliable.LSwon;205216 wrote:damn that LS1 sounds nothing like mineoh wait its missing two cylinders, and its a straight 6, lol.

VERYYYYY true. although, i saw a dyno sheet from a 500rwhp supra laying around at MCP when my friend was getting tuned, it didnt look too friendly. like around 200ft/lbs until 4000rpms, and then from 5700 it hit boost and didnt make over 40 until then. obviously too big of a turbo for that setup. the tuner said he doesnt see many imports, so that torque cuprised him lol. but who the hell would wanna drive a solid rolelr around anyways. not me.02Type-S;205220 wrote:True, but a 1000 hp 2JZ is still perfectly streetable, and a TON more reliable.
like i said though, the craftsmanship on this build was great. props for thinking outside the box.

My friend has a 7M-GTE powered notchback Mustang. It makes upper 300's I think currently. Its pretty fun, I'm a big fan of turbo import motors in American cars.
