Jay Z sucks. He relies to much on production. Anyone could have a hit record with that amount of mix down and money. All the true MCs put out albums that never get respect because of people like Jay Z, and if you put Jay Z in a circle with a handful of these guys that represent hip hop everyday and keep hip hop real by not selling out to MTV's standards of what good music is, he would get stomped in a freestyle battle any day.

Buy the Blackstar album that was made about 10 years ago and you will forget about Jay Z and fake "Real Niggas" forever

I mean every song on his new album has a big time producer or a huge talent singing or rapping on it. Actually listen to how long he raps during each song, its only like one third of it.

this is real hip hop. listen and learn.......

So just because someone has other hot artists on his tracks and great producers and get in a circle and "diss" the other guy like a scene from 8 mile they're terrible? Jay Z is one of the only guys in the game that doesn't write his shit down, but I guess since he isn't cutting other people down to a beat it's just not as good. I guess I'm out if this loop.

Your wrong, sorry.

Everyone of the groups you posted would give props to Jay and I don't even really care for Jay-Z, although BP3 is a damn good album.

And

Prince Ea is dope, "I'm gunna make smart cool again" that was good.

Common is sick, and NatX is right. The Roots live is an epic show. I saw them at Webster University and it was the best show I have ever seen. I like Jay Z as well though. He's a good performer, sounds good live unlike most other "rap and hip hop artists". A guy I like a lot who doesn't get much attention is Guru.

And obviously Lupe Fiasco. This guy may be my favorite when it comes to hip hop/rap.

Guru doesn't get much attention? Maybe if you are living under a rock or are not that into hip hop. Gangstar has got to be the sure shot, and it's like that. Guru has one of the most distinct voices in hip hop, and you can always tell when premier brings the beat, it just don't stop.
