You can get some wadded up cars fairly reasonable. C5 Corvettes that are literally totaled (not rebuildable for less than they are worth) can be had for under 5 grand (real hard hits for under 4k). Then, part out interior parts and anything else you don't need and you don't have a whole lot in the complete drivetrain.
