when you are just going to burn them off in less than a few thousand miles, it's not that big a deal... plus, I believe the tires were essentially free.

Cheap tires FTW on a drift car you foo , plus with the hard compound and low power it makes it easier to spin and NOT go through the tire as fast .. softer compound tires burn off way to fast for NON professional/sponsored drivers
