The angles kill me. All the first pics are way too dark. The unedited versions of the straight pictures are good though.

The FD is my buddy Adam's old 94. As far as I know it was stolen and stripped last year.

Shame...

Whaddup Matt. That backyard shot looks tight. Wanna shoot the TL-S with its new setup?

I swear, sometimes you guys just gotta be willing to look at things from a new angle; literally.

The ones you posted that were unedited had more information in the darks, especially in the wheels. You don't want to create so much contrast that the wheels become black. You want to depict the car as it is, if the wheels are bronze yet you make them appear black it isn't an accurate representation of the vehicle.
The "JDM angles" as you call them take away from the image most of the time. People do it without thinking about why they are doing it or to what purpose. Rolling shots can get away with a little tilt because it allows the car to fill the entire frame more than a standard horizontal would. Stills do not necessitate crazy tilt unless there is an good reason. Your S2K shot is hurt by the tilt because the background is really cool and would've added to the shot but now its cut out with a diagonal line and there is too much of the road in one corner. A standard horizontal with the car placed according to the rule of thirds would've made that photo stronger.
Also, its just a pet peeve of mine, but rarely do I like images where the tire is facing the camera, turn the wheels so that the rim faces the camera, it gives the car a much better stance.

WOW I need to get back onto to nikon cafe, I didn't know they were coming out with a
d5000, the name doesn't really go with any of the other nikons lol. Looks like it sits inbetween the d60 and d90, interesting.

Well asfar as your pictures go, stay away from the crazy angles, also like James said above, remember the rule of thirds and try to keep the subject away from the center of the frame. Good start though!
