Got bored today.

Post by RyanA »

Well, a friend's father's car killed the SOHC engine that was in it about 6 months ago. Today, we decided to pull the 320,000 mile engine/trans out and do a little engine compartment cleaning. Well, after about 6 hours of work, here is where we are. Now has a B16 bolted in. Still have to do throttle cable, charge AC, bolt on power steering pump, and passenger torque mount along with a few other finishing touches. Engine compartment was TRASHED when I started on it. Here's where it's at now:

Boo for no before pics, but looks really good now. I know it had to be bad based on how that cruise control unit looks.

I think the owner got some pics right after the engine/trans was dropped out. When it looked disgusting. I'll try to have him send them to me so I can post them. Engine compartment had about 320,000 miles of crap on it. However, interior of car is STUPID CLEAN. You'd never think the car had that many miles inside. It's even Type K. His dad bought the car brand new.

Besides doing the swap today, I also pulled the wideband out of my Avalanche, changed the oil on it, raised the front of it, tightened the Y pipe on it, calibrated my tach and temp gauge, then even did some stuff on my Civic. I actually feel like I got something done today. LOL

It's Nate from Oreilly's dad. He's actually kind of a hot rodder, too. This is Derek's H Motors Online B16 swap...
