Nice! Finally more ITR owners! You ever make it to an ITR Expo?

Nope, I keep the ITR to a pretty low profile. Love the car and it was the first new car I ever bought.andyjt;251255 wrote:Nice! Finally more ITR owners! You ever make it to an ITR Expo?
Sounds about right. I get through there often.Fenian;251272 wrote:I've seen your ITR around Laclede Station and Big Bend.
Welcome.
I wouldn't have a 300 simply because you can't get one with a manual transmission in the states. Wouldn't mind a bit more power though, the 240d is less than 70hp when new 30 years and 215,000 miles ago. The 300 is something more like 120hp. My 240d is in wonderful shape though, came out of California. I love driving it in traffic because it's so mellow and comfortable and you just don't need a lot of power to putter along at 15 to 40mph staring at the bumper of the guy in front of you.91TEGDA;251275 wrote:i used to have an '83 240d with a 4spd manual i loved that car. you dont see to many of the 240's mostly the the 300's
The ITR in traffic is mental. When I drive a car I let it tell me how it wants to be driven, and the ITR says GO FASTER GO FASTER GO FASTER NOW SLAM ON THE BRAKES, TURN, PASS THAT GUY ON THE SHOULDER and GO FASTER SOME MORE. I'm honestly surprised I never wrecked it. I was 20 when I bought it. There is a thick stack of municipal driving awards in my paperwork for that car. One time buddy of mine, my wife and I drove it to Denver, Colorado and back to St. Louis in under 18 hours. Our average speed was nearly 100mph, we took turns sleeping in the back with the seats folded down. At one point in Kansas I woke up and my wife was doing 140. We're more mellow today. Two kids, full time jobs, house, etc...
Oh yeah, "Redline=shift", I'm digging the International School bus monster truck avatar. Most those buses had the same motor as my Scout II.
