i dont run any sort of pcv system and havent since i turboed my motor its not ideal but when you consider sucking oil vapor back into the turbo and into the manifold effectively lowering you octane and causing possible detonation. i would rather run mine open it doesnt really hurt anything. as long as you have it vented it will be fine your not making an insane ammount of hp and your not tagging 10k rpms so no problems, believe me i have read a lot on the subject...

I run mine open to the atmosphere as well, just making sure he didnt leave the stock pcv system hooked up still. And with a catch can you dont recycle the vapors into the manifold. you simply let the can fill and drain it, or drain it back into the block. I know what your saying though when you hook it up to the pre-turbo to create vaccum from the crankcase, this is bad for the turbo obviously.

some people have crappy catch cans :dunno: i looked at million different ways to hook up a pcv system and in the end just ran a long piece of house and kept it open. i have seen he does have a catch can but i didnt really look to hard at how it was run, although i remember seeing a hose pre turbo...

Maybe thats the hose.. I am only at 312whp and have been getting some noticeable blowby just running it open. On my next motor I'm going to try the slashcut method from the VC to the downpipe. Might smoke a little out the exhaust but sounds like the best setup for the higher hp apps, looking for 400+ on a mild build

I'm confused cause my pcv goes from the breather in the back to the pcv and back to the manifold. I thought it was suppose to be this way but could be the cause of alot of my problems if it's forcing oil into the intake manifold and flooding it out.

Unhook it completely, let the block breath free of obstruction
