It's a form of shame in their culture, so that is why the shoe was thrown. The samething happened when Saddam's statue was toppled. Pretty sure the secret service was a little slow on their response time, when it came to this one.

No but it is a insult to show the bottom of your soles. If the guy wouldn't have shouted first, he would have pegged him square in the nose. Thats the problem with islamic extremist. they are like super-villians. they have to tell you when, where, and how they are going to kill your or destroy the earth giving more than enough time for the hero to spoil their plot.

Yeah, the news I heard said that throwing a shoe is like the ultimate insult in Iraq. Weird, cause I always thought the ultimate insult in Iraq was getting blown up.
