yea, you dont know how dangerous it is unless youre out here doing it. ive only cut myself once lol. a few people my dad knows got killed. but on this flat "open" ground like this it isnt so bad, but like i said this was a very very rare to be cutting on flat ground in missouri...hence why we have to cut trees down with chainsaws here.

they are big ass chainsaws... 92cc...trust me they do the job VERY well.. and you really dont want to be using anything bigger. these are bad enough to carry around all day long on steep terrain.

if you meant the long bars and chains....well we couldnt find our longer bars we had so we had to make due with what we had.. trust me we have one bar that is like 8 foot long. i wish i had that pic of that tree we cut down with that LOL.

btw this is a whole family thing. all my uncles and cousins do this. im like at least the 4th generation to be doing it for sure.

when they have been doing it fine without it for 40 years. there isnt no logger in missouri with safety shit lol. thats just shit you see on tv to impress their insurance. i sure as hell aint wearing all that crap. if you know what youre doing you wont get hurt.

not really.. theyre kinda wierd up there.... yea you see them wearing some saftey shit but trust me we are alot safer then they are. how they cut trees and just stand a foot right next to them when they crack and fall. and the way they all carry their saws by the hotass sharp chain with dogteeth right next to their backs. yea thats real smart. theres alot better ways to carry a saw.

Luck! I cant wait to be self employed, hopefully within the next few years. I think that is the only way to go.
