Little accident. (56k go make a PBJ sammich)

Post by SweetEBPSi »

As some of you know, I was in a small accident with my Si about mid Sept. Wasn't very hard, however, Hondas are made to break upon impact due to crumple zones. Here's the scenerio. I was on Kingshighway coming up on Forest Park Expressway and as I was slowing down, my brakes locked up. Before anyone says that I should slow down or shouldn't tail the person infront of me, I wasn't. The road was slighty damp to where it brings the oil from the road up. And being in the city, there are tons of ghetto cars the leak lots of oil. I was barely braking and slid. Couldn't go anywhere except into the person infront of me. As far as I can see, I'm going to need a new bumper, bumper bracket, right headlight, hood, right fender, and maybe core support. Not sure on the core support. It's only slightly bent and a spot weld popped. I dropped the car off today to get fixed. Here are the pics.

Insurance is paying for it. I just told my insurance last weekend what I'm going to do about fixing it because I want to look at it and see if I could fix it cheaper than what my deductible is.

The car was taken up to Carstar on St. Charles Rock Road. I've heard from numerous people that they do good work and was told by my insurance company that the work done is guaranteed for as long as I own my car.

It's not that bad and I was looking into possibly fixing it myself, but once the core support came into play, I just decided to have them fix it. Besides, having them do it, it will be finished by sometime next week. The guy was saying that he will start ordering parts yesterday on the visible pieces that need to be replaced.
