that thing doesnt produce enough heat to need a front mount. i would like to see a nicer intake pipe from the throttle body to the s/c. looks pretty sweet though.

most people that have superchargd K's have the jrsc, alot of people who use centrifugal type super chargers use front mount.. intercoolers

im sure youre dying to explain to me what the difference between aftercoolers and intercoolers are.....

when i think of an aftercooler i think of a big box on the chargepipe where methonal is sprayed inside of... am i wrong?

most superchargers do not use ANY type of cooler. a turbo is a heat pump by nature, exhaust is hot, metal holds heat very well, and when it is spinning at insanely high rpms it just multiplies the heat. a supercharger is normally mounted away from exhaust and major sources of heat. so the only heat is from the supercharger itself. most honda superchargers max out at around 10psi so they arent spinning near as fast as a turbo. all in all, 99% of supercharged hondas need NO form of cooler. the term "after cooler" just designates where the cooler is located. maybe since it is located after the throttle body it is an aftercooler?( im just guessing)

IATs are outrageous on cars without some type of heat exchanger. I would say that the majority of supercharged cars making good power have some type of cooler

Just to clear this up a little bit. An aftercooler is placed after all compression stages of an FI system, and intercooler is placed between compression stages(EX: between the turbos of a suquential setup). So really what everyone callse an intercooler is really an aftercooler.
VORTEC wrote:"Vortech uses the term "aftercooler" as we feel it is more accurate; it is "after" the compressor. "Intercooler" means a heat exchanger placed between two compressors in a multi-stage system, but has been used as a synonym for an aftercooler ever since it was incorrectly stuck on the backend of a Volvo in about 1981....

The earliest aftercoolers appeared on supercharged racecars shortly after the turn of the century. They took the form of fins placed on the exterior of the discharge ducts which extended into the air stream. Both aftercoolers and intercoolers were used with great success on WWII aircraft. "
