That happened to my mom's accord once, but it only lost one wheel. And yes, it did suck because it happened not even 1/4 mile from her condo.

it was actually faulty lugnut studs. the guys on the rx7forum. he sued and WON they replaced his brakes, and wheels

It was the aftermarket Wheelstuds that were bad. Manufacturer defect.
