Greetings from an Accord in STL County

Post by Aramas »

Hey. I'm Mike. Born and raised here in STL and living out in Des Peres. I drive a more-or-less-still-stock '09 Honda Accord with a long list of plans. Normally on driveaccord but recently joined stl-imports.

So far my mods are just an OEM interior illumination, OEM wing spoiler, 35% Llumar tints all around from STL Window Tinting, and a Stage 2 LED kit from Diode Dynamics. So far only cosmetic modifications while working my way up towards performance, though not too much out there that I'm aware of that won't break my bank for a decade. Got plans for a retrofit, a V6 bumper conversion, adding fogs, a Mugen grille, lip kit, and 18" XJs, some Inspire conversions, then work on an exhaust and potentially an intake.

Here are some pics of my ride (pre-tinting, though):

That's stock for you. Trying to debate if I want springs or coilovers once I get the 18" I'm looking at.

I've been meaning to get newer pics. Sadly the only "new" ones are from an Accord "meet" last month I organized and forgot to get close up shots of mine. Probably gonna grab some new ones once a friend of mine who retrofits wants me to stop by and help him test fit some retros he's doing for an 8th gen

That accord is nice man, diggin the black! would look clean with just a lip and a drop! Go for the coilovers, that added adjustabilty and ride quality is worth the cost.

Thanks. Definitely hearing more for coilovers among some of my friends that are into cars and on driveaccord. Just need to figure out which brand and model to go with x.x;

Definitely want to get my hands on the Mugen lip kit after a V6 bumper swap. Has a nice subtle, aggressive look to it.

I almost ended up with Polished Metal Metalic since the only blacks with black interiors were '10s or '08s. Somehow found the CBP in the back of the Frontenac's (formerly Huey's) lot up against the wall and under some trees.

Thanks!

Been thinking about that, but gonna go for this with a Mugen grille:

Except in black:

But gonna go for this with JDM emblems after my bumper conversion for this:

Otherwise that grille would've been painted ages ago. Gonna take a while before I get to it because of saving up for retrofits. Speaking of which, just snagged some S2000 AP1 projectors with clear lens. Just need to gather up a few more other things before getting them retrofitted.

Definitely fell in love with it the moment I saw it was out, regardless of the Mugen name to it. Eliminates the chrome trime with a nice, bolder look on the grille. Lip gives a nice, bold and aggressive look that's subtle in places.

I know a lot of people like the coupes more than the sedans due to the overall design of the sedan. I just don't like the open space on the coupe trunk because the plate's mounted on the bumper on the coupe instead of the trunk like the sedan, but the sedan's definitely get some nice stuff to work with.
