Tranny/Axles

Anyone know a lot about the tranny and the axles??

I am most likely sure that the axles from the automatic can be re-used when I do my auto to manual swap. I am pretty sure they have the same part number.

My question is... When I take the axles out of the auto tranny to put them in the 5 speed is there anything that I need to replace like a ring or clip?

Also, does anyone know how to take the axles out and put them back in?

i'm not exactly sure if the axles will work between an auto and a manual, the lentghs might be the same but the diameter or spline count might be different. What transmission do you have and which one are you swapping in?

If the axles do work, the only things recomended to be changed would be the axle seals and the axle nuts on the end. both are inexpensive and easy to replace

yes, it is usually pretty easy, especially if you have a pnuematic pickle fork (shaun, zach )

Currently have the stock automatic tranny in the 99 civic ex coupe. So auto y8 tranny I am guessing.

I am swapping in a s40 which i guess is ex/y8

Have look under someone who has the same eg/j except in 5spd and compare lengths.
I know ef's auto's and manual axles swap.
