should i stick with my D(d16y8) or go for a B/H? whats the viability of swapping? would there be much of a reason to? i dont wanna end up dumping tons of time, money, and love into her only to get eaten up by a bolt on camero. keep in mind i haven't done my research outside of the D engine at this time so i don't even know what all can be swapped. my buddy has a i/h/e H22 and it eats me alive. is this gunna always be how it is running a D or are they really worth the time and love put into them?
i wish there was a way to drop a v6 accord engine in her

there is that dude on stlsr with the mid-engine rwd sol, i wonder how hard it would be to fit a 3L in a civic. :santa6:
its late and im probably making a fool of myself but hey, i gotta start learning somewhere right? please take my posts from the point of view of a kid watching his father work on something and wanting to learn, not as a ricebowl who thinks he knows his shit, cause i honestly don't know my shit

its late so i dont feel like typing much, to make a long story short there isnt an easy way to get a 4 cyl honda to beat a ls1 w/bolt on's, being fwd also dosnt help, and your not converting it to rwd without an ridiculous amount of money to waste
theres two many variables to just say one car is faster then the other... the bolt on h22 is probably running at best 13.7+ depending on what car its in, weight reduction, and driver........i think boosting the d series would be more fun but as far as reliability goes you would have to do less tinkering with an h22'. Obviously keeping something na with a few bolt on's is alot less complex then turbocharging a motor, how-ever boosting is in my opinion better and much more fun for the strip or spirited driving'.
your cap for a stock motor d16 id say is right around 200whp, sure you could push up to 220+ but dont expect it to take much abuse at that power level'
there are tons of options on set-ups you "could" do, but that depends on how much money you have, what the cars gonna be used for, etc'
you could do anything from boost a d series and run high 13's daily, or do an na R swap with bolt ons and enjoy the same times with more reliability, or build up a b series or d series and boost the hell out of it', your questions are too vague for a single thread and the prices will vary greatly from set-up to set-up with pro's and cons to each set-up and or swap'.
search honda-tech...its been covered about 90 billion times....yea...about that many
sense you"ve already got a d, id just stick with the D, boost it and enjoy it and learn from it, once the motor eventually goes....build up a d block with some pistons/rods and boost more, d parts are cheap and dime a dozen
