get it bored to 81.5. Know what kind of pistons you are getting first. Best thing is to already have them so they can bore each cylinder to a specific piston. Some companies include the piston to wall clearance in the final bore (cp).

btw a stock ls motor can take quite a beating.

yeah i knowe the ls can tke quite a beating. my buddy was boosting about 15 pounds on his stock motor for almost a year, he was using a t66. them when he messed up the cylinder wall he gave it to me i was planning on using like 9to1 pistons so i could still drive it while i was building my turbo kit. would 9to1 compression be drivable?

you'll be cool with 9:1 then, won't be as fast as it is now, but still just as dpendable, and when the times comes it will accept the boost very nicely :D

it depends on what products you are getting, some companies build the best kind of one product, but their other products are just ok. like Edelbrock, they have some great stuff and some stuff thats just cheap

a hone would be a good idea, as far as internal parts manufacturers some good ones include:

Pistons-
JE Pistons
ROSS Racing Pistons
Wiseco
SpeedPro
JUN

Rods-
Eagle
Greddy
Crower
Manley

for the crank leaving it alone will be fine or you can get it polished to clean off the machined surface. Lens Crankshaft on washington ave. also turns stock cranks into light weight ones if you want to do that as well.
