i would start with an intake mani, and exhaust, maybe some fuel system upgrades. imo

honestly, leave the motor alone and work on suspension if you plan to boost later.
let that motor be and then mod it when boosting. everything i can think of would be replaced except internals if you went that route, even the exhaust would unless you got TOO big of one to run til then. then you'd be like Boner and me! lol

i thought that intake manifolds would be fine to change also wouldnt 2.5 inch exhaust be ok with boost on a d series..

Wouldnt a larger intake mani benefit you in both n/a and boosted?
And yes the 2.5 would be fine for a boosted d.

Hell, I'm still running 2.5 on my boost'd B16. No problems here.99preludesh;2698 wrote:Wouldnt a larger intake mani benefit you in both n/a and boosted?

2.5 would be fine for a boosted D, but for an N/A d its just a little too big IMO. I had 2.25 on my a6 and it was completely torqueless, I can't imagine the annoyance of driving it with 2.5Drowzysleeper;2696 wrote:i thought that intake manifolds would be fine to change also wouldnt 2.5 inch exhaust be ok with boost on a d series..

I would agree with CRX GRL. Work on the suspension first. Another wise thing to do is to prep your motor before you boost it. I have pretty much replaced every gasket and seal, done a full tune up, replaced axles, as well as double and triple checked all the other components of the motor to make sure they are up to par for boosting the D-Series. Working on the transmission would be nice too.

make sure your mounts and tranny are in good shape too
boosting a shitty motor will just blow it up faster.
