Hello everybody, just thought my first post on this site should be an introduction. My name is Joshua Sanders and I live in Springfield, MO. I have been around the car scene for a while now, but 09/13/2009 I purchased my very first Honda. I have always had great respect for these cars, and am now a proud owner of a 1998 Honda Civic DX 5spd. This car is bone stock and in great shape, the only issue is the main gauge cluster will need to be replaced very soon. For my speedometer is faulty and does not register the proper speed 80% of the time and just bounces around as I drive. The car has +95k miles and drives like it as well. It is dark green with the gray leather/cloth interior. When I first bought the car I found it weird that the car did not have a tach, but no worries because I have decided to replace the stock cluster with that of one from a CRV, from what I have ready on this site so far that is a direct swap over, and the tach will work just fine but the redline will be a bit off.
If I'm incorrect in thinking this about the cluster please correct me, but as for future plans for the car. I know that to make any decent power I would either need to boost and or spray the D16 or do an engine swap. But none of that will happen to this car, it will pretty much stay stock except for some suspension upgrades, the cluster, and possibly a short shifter. But only time will tell with this one.
I will get pictures up as soon as I can, thank you for reading and responding to my post.

Oh there have been plenty of good in taste modded Civics out there, and I have been in my share of quick Civics as well. Not sure why it would be a mistake to respect them.tmarsh;198610 wrote:That's your first mistake, right there.

Oh I know, but I have spent so much money on so many cars already. That I'm looking for just a reliable DD that is good on gas. Still gotta spruce it up a tiny bit.HardCore97;198609 wrote:thats how it starts.... welcome to the site!
