hey what's up everybody, i think that i'm gonna be here mostly for tech advise, but there's nothing wrong with that right?

i just bought an 87 accord lxi and it's got a lot of problems. but what i want to do is bring it back to stock and hopefully have a reliable DD. my other car is a 94 mustang gt, so the honda will have a lot better gas mileage.

anybody that lives in the south county area that wants to help me out some time getting the car running again is welcome. oh and by the way, my name is tyler :)

at first when i got the car i had thought about ricing the hell out of it and driving around like a little douchebag...but i thought that through and changed my mind about it lol.

i think paying for tickets for pretty much being a ricer would be a waste of money.

anyway, first thing i wanna do is get rid of the shaved door handles and make them...non-shaved? or regular, however you call it. is there an easy way to do that?

welcome!!

fixing the shaved handles to normal will depend on how they were shaved, i.e. sheetmetal (the proper way), fiberglass, or a bondo job. i would take the doorpanel off, and maybe the glass too if its in the way. look back where the handle use to be and see whats back there. it might be easier to pick up doors from the junk yard instead.

i think i'll just go to a junkyard and get two doors.... it seems like only the driver's side has the actuator or whatever it is, and the doorhandles are still there, so i don't know why the dude before even 'shaved' the driver's side, the door panel is already off and i can post up a picture tomorrow cuz i don't really know what i'm looking for/at. and the passenger side opens with the handle, not sure if there's a mechanism in there too though, haven't checked
