oil seeping from headgasket, only has 450 miles!

Post by deetz »

ok i used the cometic h/g and arp studs, and i noticed the other day between the block and head its moist with oil all across the front, the head was completely rebuilt, and the block was decked, my question is, would retorquing the headstuds make any difference? it says to do it at the 500 miles mark, but i wasnt sure if the oil seapage was something that happens, surely it isnt but had to find out

you might be leaking from somewhere else and the oil is traveling around to that spot, just an idea. retighting the head bolts would be a good idea too.

Oil will sit there and become a puddle because the cam seal is leaking and thats where it rides from the cam seal down. Like I said snag a billet aluminum one and it takes like 20 minutes to toss in just need a torque wrench that goes to 20ft lb's so you can retorque the cam cap and I have the order they need to be tightened in.

Are these good for all motor with no spray also? Or are they made directly for spray.
