Hopefully this answers most of the Q's. I can't believe I've not met anyone here other than Clay. Need to atttend one of this club's GTG's.
Anywho's, with GIR gone, cheap autoX is going to be a thing of the past as Family Arena where all events are going to be located is more expensive, and has no facilities. So all the stuff we've been spoiled with at GIR, SCCA now has to pay for, right down to bringing in their own porta potties.
This is not an official autox event, no points etc, just fun. They're doing it in response to a lot of "homeless" road course HPDE people looking for a local fix. I brought the idea up and they've been very open to the idea.
That said, the format is not fully nailed down, and this phase is, as stated, an "are you interested?" We've got good response from all the clubs around St Louis.
Back to format ... the intent is to "straighten out" the course design here and there and space and safety considerations allow. Also, we're talking about the possibiity of having back-back multiple laps.
Thanks for all the Q's and hopes to see/meet a lot of you guys (and gals?) out there.
More to come as we move forward.

Sorry, this likely won't work out this season. All available dates at the Family Arena have been taken between regular AutoX and Street Survival Skills events, so unless someone cancels or a new venue opens up (something we keep working toward but without success thus far) this event won't be taking place.
That said, I personally have chosen to squeeze some lemonade out of the lemon.
Next best fix is the SCCA's AutoX School, held once per season. I have done a couple of these and they're good, challenging fun. While not the "RoadX" more open / multiple lap format we were shooting for, you still get tons of timed runs, a separate one day classroom session and a full-time in-car Instructor.
Takes place at Family Arena in St Charles on Saturday, April 30th beginning at 7:30 am, ending 4:00ish pm.
.
Evening classroom takes place on Monday, April 25th at 6:30 pm at Spazzio's Restaurant in Westport Plaza.
Full details & registration at http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/ ... 3C4A537130
Cost is $125, Snell SA 2000 Helmet Req'd, some loaners available.
Clay ... thanks for the offer. There's a variety of spots you may want to look at if would like to get involved. At a minimum, you're needed for a Street Survival Skills Instructor. Check out http://www.stlsolo.org/ ... you may want to sign up for one of the admin spots too.
