STLHONDAS Classes at gateway

Post by Waffles »

I know you all hate gateway, but i have been thinking of this for a while and would like to see some opinions/suggestions for this.

I am suggesting only 2 maybe 3 classes to start.

1. FWD + power adder
2. FWD NA
3. RWD(dont know if we have enough RWD hondas on here to do this quite yet)

Since the track workers most likely aren't going to be helpful and line us up it will have to be match ups on paper earning points for wins.

Depending on the track next year we most likely wont be able to go through a full elimination tree in a week and might have to have a monthly winner and then a over all season winner.

This would be completely unofficial, but I would be willing to front the money for trophies for the monthly/yearly winners 1st-3rd.

I was wanting to create a class where a budget racer in his S2000 is not classed against the Huber Performance SVO.

Any other ideas/criticisms?

EDIT: 2 additional notes

1. The cost will only be the cost to get into Test and tune.

2. Honda and Acura cars only

I don't think there will be enough participators.

And if its split into classes you will not have enough "fast" participators (maybe 2 at the most?)

This could work....but not in st louis.

It'd be great if this happened....and I'm all for it. I think you will want a list of people committed to doing this at least half of the season.

And there are probably around 30 test and tunes a season.
It would be $600 if you made it to all of them (which shouldn't be required).

Even if you went to half of them, that is still $300 out of pocket costs.

IMO a couple reserved days at the track per year would be better.

how much is it to reserve days at the track? that way we could all race who we want to without having to worry about the track workers letting us get lined up
i may not be "logical" but at least i can change my oil...
