You Drive for $55

Have you been watching an event and think to yourself "I can do that"?
Don't have an entire Saturday to devote to a PDX, but think to yourself "I want to do that"?
Not sure that you will like participating in an all day PDX.
The TAKATA PDX Series as presented by Solo Performance has the answer for YOU! The "You Drive for $55" program allows you to participate in a classroom session and have one (1) 20-minute on track session in your own car with an instructor. All this is for a great price of only $55.

Interested? Here's what you do. Show up at Gateway International Raceway on Saturday, August 29th by no later than 7:00AM. Go to registration, sign-up, present a valid drivers license and pay for your "You Drive for $55" session. You will need to be a member of the SCCA to participate, so bring your SCCA card with you or you will be able to obtain a temporary membership the day of the event.

Your car will need to pass tech inspection. For more information on tech inspection, please visit the STL PDX website at http://www.stlpdx.com/Rules_and_Tech_Info.html . To participate in the "You Drive for $55" Program, please bring with you a Snell 95 or better rated helmet, long pants, long sleeve shirt and closed toe shoes.

We hope to see you on Saturday, August 29, 2009 "Driving for $55". For more information or if you have questions, please contact Jose Hernandez at (314) 753-3880 or by email at jose_63042@yahoo.com

Ridealong for $25

Do you want a chance for your friends or family to understand why you love participating on The TAKATA PDX Series as presented by Solo Performance? Or, do you just want to stick your own "big toe" in the water to see what this is all about?

Whatever your reason, The TAKATA PDX Series as presented by Solo Performance offers the opportunity to ride along with an instructor on the 1.6 mile road course at Gateway International Raceway for only $25. To participate, you will need a Snell 95 or better rated helmet, long pants, long sleeve shirt and closed toe shoes. To participate, come to the start/finish line to sign up, pay your $25 and sign the waiver. To ride along, you will need to be a member of the SCCA, so bring your SCCA card with you or you will be able to obtain a temporary membership the day of the event.

Come experience the excitement of the PDX. Who knows, you may just get the need for more speed! For more information or if you have questions, please contact Jose Hernandez at (314) 753-3880 or by email at jose_63042@yahoo.com

This is brand new deal ... nobody has offered a one run session / classroom package, and the price is a steal

You'll get a good 10 laps or so laps on Gateway's road course ... that's a long time to be grinning

That's a good example of what you don't need to worry about ... don't worry about "tuning" your car, just that the wheels aren't going to fall off, that your tires and brakes aren't trashed, and go for it

Hopefully will see a bunch of Hondas there ... I drive a silver GTI, amazingly similar to the one in the photo below

It looks like the $55 is for someone who already has an SCCA membership...so how much is the temporary membership to be able to go that day? It seems like every topic I see on the innanets puts it between an extra 5 to 25 dollars.
