Staycation Idea, Learn High Perf Driving, April 4 & 5

Post by GTI-Guy »

Porsche Club event and ALL makes are absolutely welcome

Thanks to the economic trainwreck, we can't afford vacations anymore, so consider this a "staycation" ... have a blast and become a more capable, safer driver!

Price of $305 includes two days of track time, in-car, personal instruction by Porsche Club Instructor, classroom time and more ... think of this as an affordable version of a Skip Barber type experience

See below for official details and sign up links!

***********************************
Registration is open for the April 4-5, 2009 Parktown Carrera Classic Driving School!

The Carrera Classic, our bi-annual driver education event, is a great opportunity to learn and practice the techniques of high performance driving on the 1.6 mile road course at Gateway International Speedway.

If you are not quite ready to drive in the event, but would like to learn the fundamentals and feel of high speed driving, we will again offer the “High Performance Experience”. HPE students will attend classroom education sessions and ride on the track with an instructor. Participants must be 18 years of age or older. Beginning in 2009, HPE Students can apply their $35 enrollment fee to Driving School enrollment within 1 year of HPE attendance.

Also beginning in 2009, qualified advanced group drivers can register for Saturday or Sunday or both.

Back by very popular demand, the lunchtime charity laps will be held each day. For a donation of $20 to the event’s designated charity anyone with a valid driver’s license may drive around the road course at moderate speeds. Sign up will be at the track.

Usually runs between 50-60 cars, broken up into 4 groups based on experience level

Oh, now I understand, I responded "off balance" to your IM

Yes, GFs are welcome to come and hang out, as are any friends

There's even a "charity laps" thing at lunch where she can drive her car (at moderate speed) on the track for I think $20 ... it's on the Porsche site
