Team Punisher, 24 Hour of LeMons Update

Post by GTI-Guy »

Our Team "Punisher's" race car is really taking shape! Check out our motto on the door "To Enslave and Torture"

The LeMons race is July 26 & 27, so time is a precious resource right now

This weekend the rebuilt tranny goes in, and the roll cage kit is going to be installed welded up ... def going to be learning some new wrenching skills then

It has all new cartlidge on all front end suspension links, new brakes, etc, plus all the stuff that goes into making it pass race safety regulations

If you'd like to help sponsor our team (also know as "donate $), please throw a buck here for recognition http://www.easysponsorship.com/sponsor/ ... her/racing

The thing atop the roof is a graphic of a donut, and the message on the windshield is "Slower Traffic Keep Right, This Means You"

Oh, it'll get worked over, and that's part of the fun

But there's also the risk of being "the peoples' choice" where they vote on a car to destroy with sledgehammers

Okay, invite them to bring it ... we have what can be a thousand pound advantage on some cars ... remember, "survivability" is key and we're toting a nice beer belly of cushion around the track

Thanks, official report below

I know I saw the We-Todd car but there were a few Civics

Lots of innovative & bust ass efforts amongst many teams to get their cars back on track ... glad your friends got 'er done! Finishing is "Job 1!"

Race Report on the 24 Hours of LeMons ...

Great vehicle durability, car capabilities that still violate my sensibilities (cops bought that car for a reason), no major mechanical issues, good consistent driving resulted in 1st place in our class (I have no idea how they divided the cars), and 3rd or 2nd overall (depends on how some timing gets sorted out with penalty time applied)

Regardless, if you told us we'd be in the top 20 before we the event, we'd have been thrilled ... so, we're highly pumped at how well things went

We could outpull on the straight, as well as outbrake and go inside or outside in the turns as desired which had a lot of other drivers sure we cheated on suspension ... our answer? "Nope, it's a cop car, remember what the Blues Brothers said about theirs?"

Plus, there's nothing like 2 tons of car to give ya' confidence when folks are in the mood for some bumping in the turns!

Awesome event ... the organizers of do a great job to make this fun & entertaining ... Gals in fishnet stockings & push up bra's shooting paint balls at you. Bad penalty? ... Eat a can of spam to reduce the penalty time. Burning a lot of oil? ... Then you have to plant a tree while the crowd throws tofu at you because your "carbon footprint" is too high! So, it's a great gameshow throughout the event and the crowd attendance was high thanks to all the fun

Some links ... more stuff to come once I get caught back up with all the "real world" stuff that piled up on me ... be sure to check out the car crushing "people's curse" video

Also, supposedly we got a little blip on MotorWeek on Speed Channel ... the car was really popular!
