Which meant I had to baby it around the track....had to make earlier shift points and back off the throttle where I would normally have the pedal to the floor. Fun day, but my experience could have been a bit better. R-compounds still have a lot of tread on them too, making things a bit squirmy still.
Then why'd you pass me?! Maybe it's that pink valve cover giving you trouble? Just kidding, that's a fun detail and perfect for ya'

You sure you don't want to take a run at the Instructor Training Program? It's not about absolute speed at all ... its about smoothness, consistency and communication

LOL....I only had ONE session where the car didn't have any problems, maybe that was the session I passed you :P I'm looking to get another valve cover for cheap and have it powder coated better....but still pink!

My plan was to take this track season getting used to driving the track by myself w/o an instructor. Then if I had no problem being out there alone, I would feel ready to be able to guide someone else around our lil track. Next year I definately want to pursue instructing!

The other option is a tall enough roll bar to pass the "broomstick" test ... however, your convertible top will no longer close
what is this "broomstick test" just would like know more before I drag my car all the way down there just for it not to pass tech.

EDIT: just found this on a track's website

Convertibles must have a roll bar which passes the broomstick test or have a hard top in place.
Unless the maufacturer's owners manual says your convertible will support itself by the windshield frame
in the event of a roll over(ala: Porsche Boxster and Honda S2000), your convertible needs a roll bar. The
broomstick test reveals clearance for your helmet clad head while sitting in the driver's seat with a
broomstick" (or similar device) set atop the roll bar and the windshield frame. Your helmet clad head must
have clearance under the broomstick.

Is the "broomstick test" required for just convertibles? More to the point I have a cage in my Del Sol but I can just leave the roof in does the "test" still apply?
04 Subaru WRX Sport Wagon
95 GMC Suburban (Honda hauler)
94 Del Sol vtec (some boost is better than no boost)
91 Chevy S-10 V-8 (toy, soon to be gone though)
87 Honda 250R (as close to a Type R as I will get)

I strongly believe you are okay with the roof on and you will be good. PLEASE however check with someone ahead of time to confirm. The Del Sol is a fine handling car

i would but I'm un-employed right now so spending $$$ on track days just isn't the smartest thing to do at the moment.

I also told my friend I would work at her clothing store the 26th and 27th while they are at a fashion thingy, so I won't be available to go anyway :(

I've gotten word that this event may or may not happen, apparently there aren't enough cars signed up yet and it could be cancelled....

I would like to see some of you sign up for this, it's really addicting, lots of fun and you really learn a lot about how to drive and you also get your moneys worth out of all those parts you put on your cars

COME ON PEOPLE, SIGN UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
