Drive The Way You Want To, Legally, On A RaceTrack! Nov 1 & 2

"DE's" or Driver Education events are a great way to learn high performance driving techniques in a closed course environment

This is not a race, but a way to learn the techniques, which by the way, will make you a safer driver as well ... you will gain an understanding of the "proper line" through various types of turns, as well as how smoothness in braking, throttle and steering inputs will help your car stay balanced and effective ... "squeeling tires" does not equal fast!

Passing is limited to certain areas of the track, and only with "point by" .. this helps to keep the event safe and fun for all types of cars

The event is sponsored by the BMW Club of St. Louis, and they have years of experience running these events ... it's a great, fun weekend

All makes of cars are welcome (see special requirements for convertibles) ... you'll need to get your vehicle inspected and can do so at no charge at the Chesterfield Valley AutoTire store by appointment, or at Reid Vann on October 16

The weekend event costs just $300 and includes classroom instruction, plenty of track time, as well as an Instructor in the seat next to you to provide feedback and tips ... compare this to the cost of a Skip Barber or Bondurant school, and you'll see what a value this is

When you register, please add "GTI-Guy Refferal" ... I'm looking to "turn on" the largest number of first timers!

I may be attending this, there's a chance I might go to CMP in SC in November, if not then I should be able to attend this event. When do we need to sign up by?

s2k's are not allowed at a BMW event.....have to keep those to SCCA and NASA around here as far as I know....

Bob, you're on for the person who gains the most first timers!

You go out of town for track days too much! Registration deadlines are usually 1 week or so before the event. Says it officially somewhere via that registration link

This is a hollow taunt. I was extremely popular once ... and I'm older = big, BIG address book!

Just so ya' know ... and you prolly already do, Honda makes a hardtop for your car which would allow you to run ... the only prob is I think they're obscenly expensive, unless you can find one used, being sold off by a racer / DE

The other option is a tall enough roll bar to pass the "broomstick" test ... however, your convertible top will no longer close

And as Ali mentioned ... SCCA you can def run your car, not sure about NASA

It's a balls to wall car, I've driven and I love them on track ... I am very open to buying one with the hard top

Hope something works out for you
