ps. rick, wasnt that video one of the only times your car was at the track last year cause it runs like shit? why did you blow your head gasket didnt you have the head milled and the block decked? wasnt that the run you leaned out and burned the ground off the spark plug cause you bumped up the boost with no tune? if you have had this long to get you car running right with what you had last year and havent done it, what makes you think you car will be ready with new parts in several months?

i was up at gateway earlier last year before i had alot of shit done and i ran a 11. the announcer about shit his pants i was told.. and i was hotlapping the hell out of it at the end because it was so damn crowded and i didnt hardly get a damn run in.

and i would run at pinks all out if they would let me but they wont so...

which is exactly my point nothing against you but your not going cause they wont let you run cause you dont have cage correct? im sure 95% of all the other fast cars are in the same boat and will also not be allowed to run...

i would also say that they arent going to show due to how unreliable they are. its the nature of small displacement motors running high compression or high boost. they break and i would bet if there are imports entered, half break while running, and half of those will break at the line lol.:ohsnap2:

out of the hundred or whatever passes ive made at tracks, i only broke ONE time.. and it was my fault, i somehow forgot to preload at the line and broke my axle...this was the last run of 07 in november. im actually suprised my axles have lasted as long as they have

Gateway is just covering themselves with the cage thing, why wouldn't they? Plus its a plain and simple NHRA rule.....which many tracks probably have to abide by somewhat. I'm sure they don't make these things just for the hell of it.

I don't want to find out what would happen to me (and my tin can of a car) if something happened past the 1000' mark.

i just got in
the rules are that any thing quicker than 11.49 most have have roll BAR
anything quicker than 10.99 most have roll CAGE

ummm, you better double check that, i know for sure the rules are MUCH more specific than that. to be an NHRA sanctioned track, you have to follow NHRA rules. NHRA=Big money events, Big Sponsors
