My CRX Si full restore

Post by Levis2k »

I figured it's time I make a build thread of my recent CRX purchase. In case you haven't read the crx thread I'll give you alittle history of this car. Its a '90 Si that a lady from Chesterfield bought brand new off the show room floor. It has never been in a wreck and none of the original part have been replaced. She had the following options installed at the time of purchase: a/c, window visors, sunroof visor, fog lights, splash guards, front bra.

In 2002 a guy named Brian bought it from her with 73,000 miles. Every service record that she had done from Meyer Honda was with the car, even the owners manual, the factory radio manual, a brochure from when the car was brand new, a brochure of the factory accessories available at that time, and even a copy of the original window sticker. The guy traveled alot for work and the car would sit weeks at a time in airport parking lots, (why the paint is so faded) and he traveled a lot to Chicago (the reason for all the rust) He put 170,000 miles on the car in the 10 years he owned it.

So on July 6th I bought the car off him and I got all the goodies to go with it. The interior is still in near mint condition. No rips or worn spots anywhere. This build is going to be slow but worth it in the long run. I'm not holding back on this car. It will be museum ready when I'm done with it. I'm restoring the car back to its original condition, probably the only aftermarket thing I will put on this car is coilovers. The rest of it will be completely OEM.

Enough rambling and on to the pics...

Here's how it looks as of right now
