Thanks, there's more to come once it's on the road again. Get it working and get it cleaned then it's time for more pictures and meets.

Love it! I forgot that I had posted when you first started this back in February! Hopefully I can keep making progress on my hatch and get it out on the road before we start getting bad weather in the winter. Would be nice to see mine out with a few other EGs!

Well thanks! Tonight is the rebuild day, doing the oil pan gasket, rear main seal, clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, throw out and pilot bearings, both engine and transmission oils being changed, magnetic drain plugs to catch any shavings. Now all I need to pick up is a 96-00 evap coil and slap on the new expansion valve and a new cabin air filter. But the evap chamber might have to wait until the weekend to do a pick and pull run.

As I said, it's time for some updates! So I got the work done tonight that I wanted to.
Replaced both the oil pan and rear main seals

And got the new hotness is in! Went from a 17.4 lb flywheel to the exedy 9.5 lb flywheel. And also hooked up the new clutch and pressure plate.

Tomorrow I gotta throw the tranny back on and put the axles back in and then fill it up and then hook everything back up.

Well I went to pick n pull and riverside today to pick up some parts for a retrofit I have been wanting to do. I have wanted to do the cabin air filter retrofit, and today was the day. I picked up an evaporator box from a 96-00 civic and a cabin air filter tray from a 96-01 crv. The evap box is almost identicle between the two chassis so it makes it 1000 times easier. I took the box apart to clean all the shit out and change the expansion valve while I was at it. Here's the pictures I took for the whole project.
The new air box from an ek

The new expansion valve installed

The new filter slid in with the cr-v filter tray

Front shot of cr-v tray

And installed with filter tray showin and then with cover on

And that's that! The ac lines fit right up in the bay and fit in there perfect. So after all of my research and gathering I got it done. If anyone else wants to do this for an EG or an EK it's simple, I'm sure it would work fine for a DC as well.

Digging that A/C work! Coming together nicely! I'll be doing my rear seal/flywheel/clutch soon as well. Just waiting on new head bolts to finish up the top end, and then I start working my way through the transmission. Lol.
