New work beater.

Well, my new work beater showed up at the house last night. Thanks to Geoff for calling me and telling me about this thing. Pics later but here's the rundown:

1991 Honda CRX Si. Black/black and 100% bone stock. Bought from 60+ year old owner. Clear is peeling on the hood and roof and there is a small spot of rust on one rear quarter and a small dent on the other one. Still has factory dual tail pipe exhaust (doesn't leak), cargo covers, and even an uncracked climate control. He had the AC compressor replaced by Honda last year and the car blows cold air. WAY old school Boston Acoustics component set (from when they had the tweeters in the square plates; the black soft domes are now faded to tan) and aftermarket CD player are the only things on the car that are not original.

I have to put new brakes on the back and replace the valve cover gasket due to some seepage. Plan on doing that either this afternoon or tomorrow so I have it ready to drive to work on Monday.

Long term plans (but you know how that goes with me and cars) is to just restore the car back to showroom new. While car is in for paint, I plan on rebuilding the stock drivetrain. Also plan on replacing every bushing and wear part on the body and will be on the lookout for some mint Si seats. When it's done, I want it to be like the car was just bought new. No mods at all. In fact, I may even go so far as to get a factory Honda radio with changer controls and hide a changer in the car somewhere...

Good find. Clean crxs are few and far between, does it actually have complete interior?

Has every piece inside still. Seats are a little worn but seems like all of them are. Climate control not cracked. Floor mats were some custom ones and they just have CRX Si embroidered in them; not the correct factory ones.

Installed new front rotors, new front calipers, new front brake hardware and pads, turned rear rotors, installed new rear pads and hardware. Brand new radiator sitting in the back of the car waiting to be installed later today. Been driving the car nearly every day. I think all that I'm going to do now is put new shocks on and inspect every bushing and wear part on the suspension.

I'll snap a few pics today. Got the windows tinted yesterday (38% on all side windows and 25% on rear glass) so it's looking a little better.
