STLWagovan - TRYING, to be different...

Post by STLWagovan »

So where to begin.

It all started when i was in search of a " Follow behind " vehicle / truck to follow me to my drift events with all my spare parts / tires / fluids / tools / and food.

I hated packing all my stuff into my 240, just to throw it all back in at the end of the day and lose a few items each time...

So i hunted around and happen to find a 1990 Civic Wagovan sitting in my buddies driveway.

I never did take pictures of the day i went and grabbed it, but it had been sitting for 2 years after it was delivered to his house by the last owner.

He NEVER drove it because it needed a tail light in order to get state inspected.

So i bought it from him for the STEEP price of 150$.

Got it towed home by a friend of mine ( courtesy of AAA insurance) Tow truck guy was soo cool, he even unloaded the car into my garage.

After popping the hood to find a massive amount of acorns and other nuts, it was safe to say it was a haven for critters.

Wire up the distributor wires that were chewed through and put in some new gas. Car started right up. But SMOKED ALOT!

Pics of it when i had it driving on 3 cylinders... The front wheels were some a friend had lying around his garage from his old civic.

Did a compression test after it leaving me stranded one night at West Co Mall...

This was done on a cold engine, but cmon. #2 really...

So a friend of mine had a B18a sitting around that needed a new home. Luckily enough it had the mounts for a EF already!

Blamo!

So began the engine pull.

Then i got this mega bright idea to paint the engine bay..

And thats about where she sits as of today..

I am now stuck at the wiring and the vac lines hookups. Ive been doing my research here and there on Honda-Tech.com and other google finds.

There will be plenty of more updates as this thing starts to snowball.

I wont say what my plans are for this, because there are none. It was just a perfect project car to start on.

Bring on the " Constructive Criticism ". lol.

I too hate rust, but yes.. Who can pass a 150 Honda that SHOULD run... LOL.

Oh btw that engine bay is Purple. It looks Blue due to the pearl and clear coat.

You should have just cut the front off and towed it with the drift car! wago-trailer lol

Looks good, I've always wanted a wagon to play with.

5lbs of compression on cyl 2...wow lol. That is by far the lowest compression ive ever seen on a cylinder lol.

One of my buddies has a wagon the same color that smokes like a freight train, we hope to be swapping it soon too. Good luck with the build!

I wants a wagovan so badly. Congrats on the effing steal at 150. That's pretty stellar.
