04 Acura TL Progress Thread (Update 5-17-11)

Post by zacs2k »

I have been looking at build threads and stuff out of boredom and im finally getting the mod bug for my TL after having it a year. I can't believe I have went a year without wanting to do anything to it. I would have called this a build thread, but this won't be a build. It will be a VERY slow progress thread. Im going to be doing some things to it that are cheap.

I promise that there will not be any overexposed/cell phone/shit camera picks in this thread. The photos aren't going to be pro, but they will be nice photos that are easy on the eyes.

Anyway on to the pics and shit.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I sold my s2k to a member here and a few months later at the end of April I picked up this clean 2004 Acura TL Base. I got a great deal on it and enjoy driving it, its smooth and quiet which is what I was looking for because of my 50 mile each way to work trip.

The day I bought it:

So I wanted to do a few little things to it that were cheap. First thing was to add a cool license plate frame.

So I snagged this wek sos one for cheap along with a couple stickers...

Next little thing on the list was to change the interior lights to LED. I went to superbrightleds.com and got 4 for the interior domes, 1 for the trunk, and 2 for the license plate. They turned out pretty good and I love em!

The last tiny thing on the agenda at the time was tint. I wanted it to be legal too because I had multiple tickets in the past for too dark. So I got 35% all around...

The pics make it look lighter than it is, its a pretty good dark especially on overcast days

Nice car. I bet these would be awesome for a roadtrip (something I keep obsessing with for no reason) lol.

Cant wait to see progress.

Thanks man, it's good for trips definitely. I took it to Chicago for the John Deere Classic pga tour visit and I got 34 mpgs on the way there. Made it there and back on 1 tank.

Ya it was pretty bad, about 10 lbs of shit in there. (not really though)

So I had to make a trek to autozone for a new filter and by time i got back it was dark out...

Looks good dude, although I think these motors are ugly without all the plastic unless they are heavily modded/supercharged. What's next for it?

Looks great. I'm jealous of the MPG's I was debating between a TL and a Cadillac CTS, ended up getting a good deal on a CTS and only average 22. Type S wheels and a slight drop would make it look even better!
