Ok, so I think I could keep this one!....maybe

Some of you may know that I recently bought JesSi's RSX-S. When I picked it up it needed a few things fixed, but nothing major. Tires, brakes, hole in the exhaust, weak power steering pump, and a mysterious intermittent no start were the only mechanical things. The front lip and rear bumper cover had seen better days, but what can you expect from a car that lives in the city...there's parking blocks and crazy drivers everywhere. I originally purchased the car to yank the swap for my 97 hatchback (in storage). However, after driving the car I was hooked (which JesSi predicted would happen btw).

The day I carted it home

Then I removed bumpers to get them fixed, and pulled the wheels so I could get new tires mounted. Ordered up a set of 215/50/16 for the stock 16x6.5" wheels. I drove it like this for a week or 2! (thanks to Crick_james for loaning me his wife's steelies)

During this time I got the exhaust fixed ($45) and solved the mystery no start problem (old Clifford alarm had a starter cut relay that was dying and would kill the starter wire randomly...fixed for the price of a butt connector).

The rear brakes were way past worn, and I happened to have some parts that fit the car laying around so I took an evening to go from this:

to this:

with these all around

finally, got the bumpers back and now she looks like this (dirty, I know)

Now I got some feedback from some folks that they were sad to see the pedobear go, so I've considered leaving this on there....call it 'ghost of pedobear'. lol.

currently working on rounding up the $ for fuel system parts. going to convert to return style system using Aeromotive compact regulator, -6AN lines, with a Walbro 255lph hi pressure intank pump feeding a Bosch 044 inline. The car already has 1000cc RC injectors so I think that will suffice for now. I did buy another 2002 RSX-S, so I have considered pulling the tank and having a sump welded in so I could do dual 044s, but I'm thinking I'll save that for the track cars. I mean really...do you NEED that much power to drive to work and back? :yo:

As far as cosmetic upgrades I don't plan on much. 17x9 +35 with 245/40/17 tires at some point. Maybe swap the spoiler to a 05-06 OEM style. I did order 8K HIDs for low beams and a new black leather MOMO shift knob. I have some scrap carbon fiber laying around that I would like to cut 'blockoffs' for the foglight mounting holes...but I may have to do something else. The car is entirely TOO low for my daily commute so I'm going to raise it up a tad. Thinking of ordering a set of Progress Sport springs and installing just the rears (1.4" drop vs the 2.0" that's on there now) to level the car and bring the exhaust off the ground a bit.

stay tuned....I might just keep this one long enough to finish it. :chin:

Good to see it getting some attention and being brought back to life.

Sounds like you have some good plans for it.

If you plan to stick with the 30R turbo thats on it, a single walbro 255 intank should be enough as long as your running on gas that is and not E85.
