the valve covers. in the picture look like this.
1. you were spray painting an object.
2.valve covers were positioned adjacent to said object.
3.(on a windy day...)
4. and as you spray painted the offending object
5. a gentle breeze happened to direct some of the paint intended for the offending object. onto your valve covers.
that is my take on the situation.
and to head off subsequent back-last

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you.
