Have you though about top mounting the turbo, it might save you some headaches in the oil line(but it might also cause more with the DB)?JustRob;175547 wrote:I test fitted the turbo tonight and the manifold is definitly not going to work with my setup this time. The problem isn't the turbo, but its the oil pan. This pan puts my return line drian all the way on the timing belt side of the motor while the drain on the turbo is all the way in front of cylinder number 4. I think this is going to cause issues so I'm going to sell this manifold, downpipe and dumptube and get a new one from Go Autoworks. Heres some shitty pics.

I have thought about the a lot. The main issues is I don't want to spend the money on it when I can get the same results I'm looking for with a log manifold.btlfedgolf;175570 wrote:Have you though about top mounting the turbo, it might save you some headaches in the oil line(but it might also cause more with the DB)?
I was thinking about using this manifold a little while ago. Basically its a Drag log manifold flipped upside down. I've seen a couple people on H-T running this manifold with good results. And its a little cheaper then the Mini Ram's and Ram Horn's. The main issue with this is it doesn't come with a downpipe or dumptube. The reason why this is an issue is because I've never seen a downpipe made by a local shop that I would be happy with. And HTP has no concept of time, so they're out of the question.
So I'll probably end up with some kind of manifold, downpipe, and dumptube package from Go Autoworks. I'll be looking around some more in the next couple months for something new though. I need to get the last couple items for the block and get the head finished first.

Rob, why cant you clock the center section to allow the drain to point down?

I think the problem is the center section is to far right and it would drain into the non sumpted side of the oil pan.SLOSHONOGO;175591 wrote:Rob, why cant you clock the center section to allow the drain to point down?

Could always have a bung located where you want it. That 61 looks nice and clean.
If you need help with your downpipe problem, let me know.

Yeah, but the reason I got this oil pan was because it is already tapped properly. It's a good time to upgrade manifolds anyway. I'll definitly be talking to you about a downpipe. I really liked the work you did with your setup. Thanks!5thgen;175606 wrote:Could always have a bung located where you want it. That 61 looks nice and clean.
